Tabitha “Tabs” Mwale

Tabitha Mwale, also known as Tabs, is a multifaceted creative entrepreneur and industry pioneer. Raised in South Africa and with a background in Zambia's film industry, including work on Zambezi Magic shows, Tabs ventured into animation in 2022, producing Zambia's inaugural anime pilot episode, which garnered international recognition through an Al Jazeera documentary feature. As the founder of Tabproduction Studios, Zambia's first traditional animation company, Tabs has achieved numerous milestones, including winning the Most Innovative Enterprise award at the 2022 Venturecon. Recognized as a youth role model by Sky Girls Magazine, Tabs has also served as a guest speaker at prominent events such as Comic Con Africa and AfroGeek Fest. Currently, Tabs continues to excel as an animation producer and director, including work on the Hivos-supported short film Twaano, and remains a driving force in the indie animation sphere, inspiring a new generation of creatives.
