Simphiwe Mnculwane

Simphiwe an experienced media practitioner with over 20 years experience in film and television broadcast. He began his career in 2003 as a television director and subsequently worked in various functions within the production process including researcher, content producer, writer, producer, director, brand account manager, business development strategist and entrepreneur.

His list of productions as a writer, director and producer includes works for SABC, MNET, DSTV, Ignition TV and Laureus Sports Foundation and more. The productions include: Vukuzenzele, Enterprise Zone, First Time Teachers, Bonisanani, Whip The Chef, Eish! I Know, Treasure Hunt, Talk SA, Zola 7, Africa Rise, Shabangu PI, Pharoahe Monch South Africa Tour, uMakoti: Are You The One?, Grace , KIA Motors Legacy and more. He has also worked as a content and enterprise development strategist for the Zulu Royal Family on behalf of the late HRH King Zwelithini KaBhekuzulu, a role he fulfilled between 2016 and 2020. Currently he works as a VFX and Animation producer for Acclaimed studio Chocolate Tribe. In his role at Chocolate Tribe he has delivered VFX on numerous productions for clients such as MTN, Three Ships Whiskey, Nestle, Flying Fish, FlySafair, Sasol Limited, Spar, Cote D’Or, Nedbank, Chicken Licken, Disturbed, Cell C and more. In 2023 he was listed 7th on the Loeries Official Producer rankings.
