In the winter of 1924, a small group of volunteers in Alexandria came together to collect coal and coats for neighbors who couldn’t afford to stay warm. That act of compassion grew into one of the region’s most trusted organizations, now supporting more than 40,000 neighbors every year across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC.
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) releases the call for Public Screening funding applications for Cycle 1, 2026/27 financial year, for screenings taking place from 01 November 2026 to 28 February 2027. Available to individuals, companies, and organisations seeking to host public screening events that showcase South African films.
