Lola Aikins

She studied 2D animation at LISAA in Paris, France. Her graduation film ‘ Offre Moi Le’ made with 5 other classmates received a special distinction from the jury. Upon returning to South Africa after the completion of her degree in 2018, she interned at Mind’s Eye Creative in visual development and 2D animation. As a freelance visual development artist and animator she has worked on a number of short films and TV series. Lola is now directing her first solo short film called ‘Naledi’. Lola has pitched her project at numerous festivals including the Cape Town International Animation Festival in 2023 where she won the Road To Annecy Pitching competition. In 2023, Lola was selected as one of The Mail and Guardian's top 200 Young South Africans in the Film and Media category.
