
Pearl's journey as a producer commenced as a Production Manager and evolved into a Line Producer on shows like Zola 7 (Series 3 - 5), Takalani Sesame (Series 4), and the documentary series "Our Own Stories - In Our Own Voices." Since 2007, she has produced award-winning reality shows such as Zola 7 and Choice, along with a diverse array of programs, including "Ba Kae?," "My World," "Our Moments," "Courage," "Kwela Express," "FanBase," "Now or Never," "Nhlalala Ya Rixaka," and numerous corporate segments for government departments and corporate giants. In 2013, Pearl briefly shifted her focus to commercial production with Dzinge Productions and Tsalena Media, crafting commercials for notable organizations like the NYDA, DPSA, Department of Human Settlements, and the acclaimed Bayer Malaria Ad. She later joined Connect TV, where she produced "Our Perfect Wedding" (Series 2 & 3) and the couples' gameshow "Wang Verstana" (Series 1 & 2). Between 2014 and 2019, Pearl continued to make her mark with productions like "Breaking New Ground" for the Department of Human Settlements, "Nhlalala Ya Rixaka" (Series 4), the SAFTA 12 Nominated Children's show "The Epic Hangout," and the documentary "The Castle of Good Hope" for the Department of Defense & Military Veterans. She also served as an On-Set Producer for the telenovela "Isithembiso" (Series 1). Notably, Pearl played a pivotal role in the success of the SAFTA 14 Nominated Prison docu- reality series, "Yobe" (Season 1 & 2). In 2021, she produced "Abasemzini," a reality series on 1Magic, DSTV Channel 103, which brought together mothers and daughters-in-law through games and therapy. She also produced the 17th SA Sports Awards for the SABC in 2024. In addition to her illustrious career, Pearl Munonde is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, demonstrating her commitment to personal and professional growth. Beyond her extensive production career, she actively contributes to the industry's development and governance. She served as an advisory panel member for Development and Production for the NFVF, has been a SAFTAs judge from 2019 to 2022, and holds leadership positions on boards such as SWIFT, the Durban Film Mart Institute, and SASFED and SOS Support Broadcast Coalition.
