Rob van den Bragt

Rob is the Chief Creative Officer of Chocolate Tribe, as well as a VFX Supervisor and Animation Director with over 28 years of experience. He’s worked with leading companies such as The Mill, Cinesite, Disney, Framestore, Glassworks, and Passion Pictures. His extensive experience spans feature films, animated TV series, and commercials. Trained in Classical Animation & Film in Belgium, Rob balances both technical and artistic skills.

In 2014, Rob co-founded the now multi-award-winning Chocolate Tribe, with offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. The company produces 3D Animation & Visual Effects work for film, episodic content, and commercials. Three years ago, the company expanded into developing IP content for animated and live-action productions. Chocolate Tribe’s clients include major players such as Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Showmax, BBC, Framestore, The Mill, and more. Rob has a deep love for knowledge sharing and has had the honour of being a guest speaker at numerous international events, including SIGGRAPH LA, NAB Las Vegas, FMX2023, AVIJOZI 22/23, Autodesk 3December in London and Johannesburg, guest lecturing at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Edit|VES festival in Frankfurt, London's Tate Modern, Visage in Kenya, Lisolo in Ivory Coast, and the China International Cartoon & Animation Festival, among others.
