Thabo Masilela

Thabo Masilela is a producer and writer from Johannesburg, born in October 1999. At the age of 24, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA. He co-founded 4th CYCLE in 2021, producing commercials for brands such as Starbucks and Lover's Plus (commissioned) for the company, while also writing commercials for brands like BMW and Marvin Magazine.

He has served as Head Producer and COO of the company since its founding and has produced successful TV films including IziKhumbuzo, Lil Bandz: Umrepha WeBeshu, and Hha! Agnes. He also has experience in writing and producing podcasts, most notably the Engage Africa Media podcast: Unicorn (Producer), which has more than 100,000 downloads. Thabo is passionate about the growth of investment in the African media space and has expressed an interest in 4th CYCLE one day entering sectors such as film financing and investing in the South African production houses of the future.
